Notes
- Agenda Item 2 Discussion: Does the name "Platform Maintainers"
correctly convey the role? I.e., does this name go too far in implying an
ongoing support role? Should we consider other alternatives (e.g.,
Platform Shepherd, Platform Administrator, Platform Lead)?
A vote was taken on the following names: Platform Resource, Platform
Advocate, Platform Maintainer, Platform Lead, Platform Supporter,
Platform Endorser, Platform Champion. The name "Platform Advocate"
was selected.
- Agenda Item 2 Discussion: Review July 23 Discussion
There was a discussion of items that should be highlighted in
Platform Advocates PEP.
- A Platform Advocate does not need to be a member of the
the OpenPegasus Steering Committee.
- Within the OpenPegasus Community, the Platform Advocate role
is voluntary and should not be interpreted by the Community
as a commitment by the individual or company of any type of
ongoing support.
- Within the OpenPegasus Community, the Platform Advocate serves
as the Platform representation to both the Architecture Team
and the Steering Committee.
- Requests to support additional versions of a Platform OS should
be reviewed and approved by the Platform Advocate.
- The Platform Advocate is viewed as the platform consultant by
both the Architecture Team and the Steering Committee.
- The Platform Advocate serves as a coordination point for the
identification, escalation and resolution of platform specific
issues.
