Abstract: This PEP proposes adding a new field to the Configuration Property Table. This field will allow a configuration property to be configurable, but not documented (i.e., not listed by cimconfig).

Definition of the Problem

There are three categories of configuration properites.

Properites like enableHttpConnection, that are customer configurable.
Properties like repositoryIsDefaultInstanceProvider, that are fixed by the vendor and can not be modified.
Properties intended for use by the vendor's support organization. These properties have the characteristic that they are configurable, but not documented.

Proposed Solution

This PEP is being proposed to modify the Configuration module to include support for this type of property.

Solution Description

This PEP proposes adding a new field to the Configuration Property Table to allow a property to be defined as configurable, but not documented. The Configuration Provider will be enhanced to support this field. This will include removing the existing code to support this feature for traceLevel and traceComponents.
